A Few Days of Rest

Good morning and happy Friday!  I am so glad to say that I am taking a vacation day today.  I have a full time job, two kids, and my Etsy store.  And I notice as I get older that I need to take better care of myself in order to keep up with everything.  I plan to sleep, exercise and watch movies and read for three full days.  How great does that sound?

I thought that I would add a few pics of the florals around my house.  The one above is absolutely one of my favorites. I think the balls are called snowballs

The one below is from a while ago.  I had a tough time getting the daisies to stand up in the vase.

So instead of cutting them down, I added a starfish in an effort to anchor them.  It worked well.

I found these at the flea a few weeks ago.  I love them beside our front door welcoming people.

I kept them and the snowballs in the first photo in a bucket after I got home.  My favorite part is the "mess" they make.  I love how it decorates the water.

It's almost like nature's confetti.

I almost forgot.  I have vowed to do no sewing, little cleaning, and no following up on invoices or quotes.  (Not entirely sure I can stick to the sewing part.  I love it and find it to be very therapeutic.  But I did so much of it into the wee hours of the night preparing for last week's show that a little break might be a good thing).

The other thing that I do plan to do is to visit a few fleas that will be in town this weekend!

Enjoy your weekend!

  2. I love all of your beautiful flowers! I believe you said that there was a market close to you selling flowers inexpensively? Wish I had access to one. I think it's good to play "hookey" every now and then. You can recharge your batteries and be a better person afterwards. Hope you have a restful and pleasant weekend!

  7. Just love your flowers, and the photos are wonderful. How clever to use the starfish to keep the daisies upright! I work full time too, and as i get older i find it harder and harder to get anything done on a two day weekend. It's like i just get started and it's time to go back to work. It's so good that you are going to make yourself relax and slow down time a little bit... enjoy....

  8. Good for you, Michele! With all of that going on in your life, you need to take some "serenity time" for yourself, girl! :) "Snowball" trees used to be my MIL's favorite bush, so your photos brought back fond memories for me. :) Have a fabulously relaxing weekend, sweetie! :)
